Under the Affordable Care Act, health insurance issuers and self-funded group health plans are required to fund a transitional reinsurance program.
As a first step in that program, contributing entities must submit their 2014 enrollment counts.
On December 5th, 2014, HHS announced that the submission deadline would be delayed once again. The new deadline is 11:59 p.m. EST on December 19, 2014.
The original deadline was November 15th, 2014; that was later postponed under December 5th. In the bulletin announcing the latest delay, HHS stated that they had “received numerous requests from issuers for an extension of the deadline for submission of the first production data files.”
I hope that you find this compliance update helpful.
